Located within our large landscaped property Fantail chalet offers guests plenty of space to unwind and explore. Newly built, you will be spoiled staying at Fantail, with its modern architecture and comfortable, stylish furnishings. If you are planning a holiday with another family group we have Tui chalet and Gemini holiday home adjacent to Fantail.
All the important things that make a great break are on offer for our guests, the expansive property have all the amenities of a resort. Also close at hand, are the many attractions and activities that Rotorua has to offer, and Rotorua's town centre is only a ten minute drive away if you are looking for a night-out dining.
Spacious, quiet, inviting and with views of the garden and Lake Rotorua, at Fantail you have all the ingredients to create a great break. Enjoy the many amenities and large open spaces available to our guests; a large luxurious outdoor pool, a hot tub, sun loungers, gym, kayak hire, children's playground, private lake access and a private jetty from which you can launch your own water-craft.
The chalet has been intentionally set up to be a home away from home. The fully equipped, modern kitchen means you can come armed with your favourite recipes to easily whip up meals. The living spaces and bedrooms are comfy to ensure you can relax and unwind. The laundry room is set up with a washing machine and dryer to keep everyone clean and happy.

- We have a large pool situated in an oasis style setting that you are welcome to use and enjoy, as well as a spa pool, gym with weights and bicycle exercise machines. Access to two kayaks to paddle on the lake is also available at no extra charge.
- We can also organise a personalised trout fishing charter for two to six people, or a trip in our own private pleasure boat from Lake Rotorua to Lake Rotoiti hot pools, a special trip only accessible by boat. These experiences are extra, on top of your accommodation cost.
- There is plenty of secure parking on the property for your car and/or boat/trailer.
- Guests can access the lake from our property to launch boats, jet skis or kayaks, canoes and sailing dinghies.
About us
We (Joe and Cynthia, your hosts) love living in Rotorua and are on hand to ensure you have a great stay. With lots of experience travelling we understand what our guests top priorities are when being away from home. And, our children Daniel, Jacob and Samantha have enabled us, to ensure a stay with at Gemini holiday home is family friendly.
We respect all our visitors requests; if you want complete privacy please let us know, or if you want us to help you organise your holiday we are on hand to assist. We are a bilingual family communicating in English or Mandarin.
Without doubt, this is the best Airbnb in NZ!!! Words cannot start to explain Joe and Cynthias property. From the moment we sent Joe a message, their service and warm hospitality has been absolutely amazing. The property is a true getaway and absolutely perfect for families. It’s super clean and tidy with every single amenity you can imagine. It’s spacious and extremely well thought out, and still so close to all shops and attractions. If 6 or 7 stars was an option... Joe and Cynthia would be the first in line for them! We genuinely thank you again for all you have done for us, we absolutely will be back for sure!!!

Joe and family were outstanding hosts. Such lovely people, we felt like family. The accomodation was top notch at 100%, and Joe made our stay 110%. The cottage was clean, had all we need for our stay with little touches on top which made it even more amazing. Even though there were other properties on the grounds the cottage was very private and so comfortable. Our toddlers had lots of fun roaming the grounds. The amenities were amazing, pool was a beautiful place to spend your afternoon and when you want a change of scenery, the lakefront is 10m from the pool and spa! Joe’s boat trip is a must do. Excellent day out with local knowledge and best of all it’s all customised to our group. Joe was very accommodating to our toddler’s needs and that made out trip that much more enjoyable. Thank you for the outstanding stay!

We had an amazing stay! the property was absolutely perfect for what we were after for our family Christmas we didn’t even need to leave the property the pool, kayaks, playground, fire pit and massive concrete and grass areas were perfect for the kids to run free. The cottage was very comfortable and felt like home , fully equipped kitchen to still have our traditional Christmas roast lunch... nice and clean ... see you again next year... thank you Jo and Cynthia... merry Christmas xx
